Rhodes island has many destinations you must visit while you are there. Some are for sight seeing, others for fun full days, for sports, for relaxing, for shoping. A very small collection is presented here, just to give you a taste and some ideas. Camping
Unfortunately, there is no organized camping location in Rhodes Island. Camping is illegal everywhere, so ad hoc camping is not allowed. You may get away with it for a few days, but its not recommended. Especially starting fires at the beach...

Post Office
The main post office is located at Rhodes Downtown at Mandraki area, and is open from Monday to Friday at 08:00 to 20:00 and Saturdays at 08:00 to 15:00. You may find post stamps at your hotel or postcard shops.

Tourist Guides
Tourist Guides in Rhodes are certified and fully trained for their job. All guides are members of their Union at 22410-27525. Organised tours can be booked at most of the travel agency offices, or even at most hotels that usually have agreements with various travel agents.

Shopping
Rodos Island may be considered an endless bazaar. Apart from the fair-priced fashion goods, many shops offer locally fashioned top quality items, including: Jewellery Ceramics Furs Leather goods Umbrellas Spirits Local Olive Oil, Suma, Honey Spirits Local delicacies

Night Life
Rhodes island is well known for its cosmopolitan nightlife, which accommodates all age groups.

Clubbing is basically concentrated in Rhodes and Faliraki, but is spread also at other areas like Ixia, Lindos etc...

Transportation
Airport Diagoras is an international airport located 17km from the city of Rodos. It is the only commercial airport available in the island. During the summer many international regular charter flights are available connecting the island with all european main airports as well as most of the central world airports.
Many regular daily flights are also available for destinations like Athens, Thessaloniki, Heraklion (Crete), Kos, Kastellorizo, Karpathos, Leros
Sea connections are operating at the commercial harbour situated in the city, which hosts International and local ferries. There are regular ferry lines conecting Rhodes to Athens (Piraeus), Crete and Turkey. Rhodes is the connection to the rest of Greece for all neighbouring islands Symi, Chalki, Leros, Kalimnos, Patmos, Nissiros, Kos, Tilos, Kastellorizo through extensive ferry, catamaran and hydrofoil services.
Bus public transport - RODA, the municipal public bus service company operates 5 city routes every 30 minute (from 06:30 to 21:00 in most of the routes). All routes depart from Mandraki, at the city center. For transportation outside the city there are two bus station terminal. The west side bus station, operated by RODA, is located in Averof str. and serves all villages on the island’s west side including a route at Koskinou (west side). The east side bus station , operated by KTEL is located in Rimini square and serves all villages on the island’s east side
Taxis are available for transfers to any part of the island, at the main taxi stations (at mandraki, the town center) you will also find a price list for the main island destinations. Rhodos has more than 400 taxis. Rates are considered to be cheap compared to other countries.
Plenty of Car, Motorcycle and Bicycle rental offices are available, make sure you book a car in advance for August, most of the car companies dont have available cars during this month.
